Sixteen sociable members played a fun American doubles tournament at the club on Saturday July 5th  - under grey clouds, in contrast to the sunny skies London had been enjoying through the first week of Wimbledon.  The rain stayed away until almost the last balls were played and didn't hang around for long enough to dampen the competitve spirits.  Action then moved off court to the twin barbecues that had nicely warmed up, ready for chef John Mathers to treat the players and half a dozen spectators to burgers, sausages and veggie kebabs.  Some beer, wine and ice lollies were also consumed and a good time was had by all.  Totting up the tournament scores put Keith Mathieson in top spot, followed by Simon Drew and Hugo Brook  Well done all!
