The Chiswick Men’s team had their most successful season in the Middlesex League in living memory (well, since 2010, when Ed started playing for the team!), ending up in 4th place in a tight division 5 west, just 3 sets away from promotion to division 4.

We actually won all our home matches, including against top of the table Parsons Green, who hadn’t lost a match in over 3 years! Unfortunately we did lose against Chiswick Riverside and David Lloyd Hampton, who both ended up just above us in the table (6 points, which equates to 3 sets over the course of the season!) Won 4, drew 1, lost 2 is a positive record, but I think we can do better next year!

In the National League, disappointingly we only actually played 3 matches, as two of the opposing teams failed to field teams, so we ended up with one real win, 2 losses (one of which on a shootout), and 2 walkovers. It does probably mean we should be promoted to division 5 of the National League next year, though.

There are plans for an end of season friendly match in September (date tbc).

The men’s team captains for winter 2025-26 are:

Barnaby Trusler: Middlesex Floodlit League (division 5 west).

Sam Behrens: Middlesex National League (division 3 west).

There will also be a mixed doubles team, to be captained by Peter Nathan, and 2 ladies teams, to be captained by Lauren Allen.
