Coaching Tournament 

Jo Martin organised a Pre-Christmas Tournament on December 13th on Friday evening.  The temperature reached a balmy high of 4 degrees! There were 4 Rounds of really great tennis with 12 Players. It was a very close contest, with sometimes only one or two points between players. The eventual Winner was Jonathan Thompson.  The runners-up were Benjamin Caplin, Chris Quinn and Seb Ruiz, the latter pipping Anita Reacher by 1 Point.

Prizes were given and lots of mince pies were consumed. A fantastic evening was had by all. This is one of a series of tournaments which Jo organises throughout the year. Thank you Jo for arranging these and a huge thank you for everything you do for the club.

Christmas Day Fun at CTC

At a loose end Christmas Day morning?  Come down to the club for panettone, a drink and some quality tennis from 10am to 12 noon on December 25th – please let Peter Nathan know you are coming, either on pnathan104@aol.com or on WhatsApp - or just turn up on the morning.  Santa costumes optional!!!

*The Winter Term starts from the week of January 13th 2025

ADULTS:
Mondays Improver’s Drop-in sessions – 730pm - 830pm
 

These classes are ideal for players who have experience in tennis and are able to maintain a rally when the incoming ball has slow/ medium pace without spin and placed close to the player. Players in this class have some experience at volleys and serving but are not yet confident with those shots in a point play situation. While players in this class are able to maintain rallies, they are not yet able to maintain rallies when the incoming ball has speed, spin or requires more movement. Players are also not yet confident at directing the ball or hitting with spin. See the below link for bookings and more information:

Adult Intermediate Drop-in Sessions - Wednesdays 09:30am and Fridays 10:00am
Fun and engaging drop-in session with the LOVEtennis Team
 
1.    These sessions are for players who are comfortable at rallying from the back of the court with good technical fundamentals. Players in this class can direct the ball cross court or with depth at medium pace and may also be able to generate pace and or spin. 
2.    Session includes 1 – 2 hours (depending on numbers) of drills, technique, double’s tactics and a whole lot of excitement and interaction
3.    £21 per person per session 
4.    Please see the below that applies to the number of players signed up:
 
1 Player - Player can request a private lesson instead
2 Players - 60 min
3 Players - 90 min
4 Players or more - 2 hours
