As the season gets underway the club and courts are getting very busy. Please make good use of the booking app and online booking system to make sure that your journey is not wasted and you find all the courts are being used! Also the website is a good place to look to confirm whether a coaching session is on in case the weather is a bit inclement. Look at the coaching page, then 'Coaching Status'
We would like to thank John Rushby for painting the wall and Julie and Suzanne for looking after and providing our plants. Please remember to give them some water if there is a dry spell! If you are down at the club for a match or coaching could we ask you to look into putting any debris into the bin provided, recyclable plastics and tennis tins into the recycling and washing up and putting away any mugs and cups you have used. It makes it so much better for the next users of the facilities.
The next Friday playing opportunity is a Fast 4 event Either 6 or 8 pairs any genders accepted, pairs draw for courts and play the opposition they meet there, winners move up and losers move down.
Rules of Fast4:
1) First to four games wins
2) Tie-breaker at 3-3 – At 3-3 the tiebreak is played to 5 points – deciding point at 4-4.
3) No ad scoring – if the game score reaches deuce, it's a sudden death point and the receiving team decides who receives.
4) Play lets – If the serve clips the net and goes in, the ball is in play and either of the receiving pair can play it.
If you would like more details or put yourself down to play please send a message to Chris Booth at boothcjsa@hotmail.com or sign up at the chalet.
The first round of the Box League has been extended to June 10th because of the holidays! Ben Rushby will be in touch with players giving them their new leagues starting on June 15th running through until July 31st
Congratulations to Dylan Hadley who won this year’s Road to Wimbledon together with Savannah Hunter. They will be going on to the next round in the summer. Runners up for the event were Ben Fisk and Eleanor Redfern. Well done everyone who played and the coaches that organised the day.
Hope to see you at the next Family Fun night on June 8th!
Finally we seem to have lost the feline visitor that was well fed and watered in May. If he/she returns can you make sure if you look round at the end of the day and check he/she is not locked in the chalet!!!! It has happened!
