Congleton Lawn Tennis Club’s 2021 Presidents Trophy took place on Sunday 25th

The players who took part enjoyed perfect tennis weather with the sun shining throughout.

After six rounds of timed tennis the semi finals were played as championship tie breaks and both were very close affairs.

Nick Wilkins and Vicky Garner defeated Kieron Beeston and Jane Cummings 13-11 in the first semi final , and in the second Simon McAsey and Maureen Taylor defeated Luke Coltman and Claire Wilkins 10-8

A Wilkins family face off was therefore averted !!!

In the final Nick and Vicky defeated Simon and Maureen to secure the prizes of M and S prosecco and belgian chocolates courtesy of sponsors Barking Mad - thanks go to club member and owner Becky Spall for providing such great prizes again.

Club chair Rob Mcninch presented the prizes to the winners having thanked the sponsors and the event organisers Andrew Giltrap and Kerry Hall and reminded the players of the next event the Chairmans Trophy on 23rd May which will be sponsored by For You Cakes, when Cong Bear will also be in attendance
