New CLTC Summer Doubles League

A Way to Play More Tennis

Following the relaxation of the Covid 19 restrictions there has been an enthusiastic return to doubles play at the Club.

However, there is no prospect at the moment of the lockdown easing sufficiently to allow the Cheshire league competitive tennis to resume, or even our own Club tournaments to take place.

The committee have therefore decided to run a summer doubles league from July to October to provide more opportunities for people to come together and play. Mike Massey has volunteered to organise it.

For those not familiar with the format, each league on the ladder will consist of four or five doubles pairs, of a similar ability, who play each of the other couples in their league. Matches are organised by the pairs themselves at a time of mutual convenience. At the end of the month the top pair in each league is promoted and the bottom pair relegated.
Naturally as the club house is still closed the all leagues updates will be issued via email.

The first league period will start on Wednesday 3rd July and last for four weeks.

If you are interested in playing, please send an email by 5pm on Wednesday 24th June to a new email address
CLTCDoubles@gmail.com

You can enter as a pre-formed partnership or you can enter as an individual and the organisers will endeavour to find you a suitable doubles partner. For those players who are new to the club it will be a good way to meet other members.

Please include a phone number on your email. In making a request to take part you are authorising the club to distribute your address and phone number to the other participants.
