Dear Members

We are delighted to let you know that Congleton LTC will reopen on March 29th, 2021. We should have a great season of tennis ahead of us. It goes without saying that we must continue to take the threat of spreading Covid-19 seriously and follow the new rules set by the government. The LTA have amended their guidance. Click on this link to view. Below are the decisions that the club has taken to follow the new rules:

The ‘Rule of 6’ applies to all non-organised social tennis. Members can play with up to 5 other players, following the normal social distancing and hygiene rules.

Court booking can start on March 15th. When booking a court on Clubspark, you need to enter the names of the other players you are playing with, using the small, blue ‘Advanced Options’ link.

Organised social tennis groups can also restart. Each group must have a Covid-Safety Delivery Plan as advised by the LTA and a copy must be sent to the club secretary. Play must be organised in such a way that there are no players ‘waiting for a game’. The guidelines state that there should be ‘no group socialising before or after play’. It is probable that these rules may be relaxed in the next announcement by the government, but until then social groups must really be organised by the group leader so that the club is complying with government rules.

Coaching can restart.

All players are urged not to congregate and mingle between games and to leave the premises as soon as possible when they have finished playing.

Please do not bring non-members (other than parents of children being coached, or paying, playing guests) to the club.

Markers have been placed in front of the clubhouse to remind members of the social distancing and hygiene rules.
