The 2018 Slazenger South and Mid Cheshire League has started but unfortunately all four Congleton teams were defeated in their opening matches

The A team - Tom Minshull/Ian Walker , Pete Wardlaw/Andrew Giltrap went down 2.5-5.5 to reigning champions Hartford A in a difficult opening match away from home

The B team  - Joe Buckley/Jim Worthington , Mike Massey/Beth Hitchen lost 3-5 to Holmes Chapel A

The C team captained by James Clemens went down by the same score at Goostrey

The D team lost 2-6 to Cuddington D. Special mention to Sian Eaton who made her team tennis debut in this match
