Latest Update - Courts Now Open

As of today, Wednesday 13th May 2020

Dear Member

We are pleased that changes to government regulations mean that we can now start to play tennis again, although in a limited way. We have received guidance (LTA latest guidelines) from the LTA worked out with the government and we have followed this guidance.

The Courts are open for use by paid up members for singles or doubles from the same household or singles with one other person outside your household.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times. We have taken the nets off courts 2 and 8, the middle courts in the blocks of three courts, to help with this.

The clubhouse will remain closed. That means there will be no access to toilets and plasters and bandages, so please take this into account when visiting the club.

To avoid too many people at the club at any one time, courts must be booked in advance.

To enable yourself to book a court you need to log into the club’s clubspark website
https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/CongletonLawnTennisClubLimited

To log in you will need to set up an account on the website – username and password

Once you are logged in you have the ability to book a court by clicking on the COURT BOOKING tab– however the system will only allow you to book a court if you are a current registered member (ie have paid the annual subscription fee).

You can also download the Clubspark Booker app on your phone – this enables you to book courts quickly and easily without navigating the website

Please bring with you your own tennis balls and mark them so you can identify them. If necessary, tennis balls should be hit back to other courts without handling them. If you are playing with someone who is not a member of your household, you may wish to each bring some tennis balls and only serve your own tennis balls. Lindsay Newton will be at the club on Saturday 16th at 10.30 am if you would like to buy a can of 4 balls for £5. Please bring the exact money.

We cannot leave hand sanitizer and wipes outside the club, so you may want to bring your own with you. We will be cleaning touch points on gates regularly.

The guidelines allow the Congleton Tennis Club social singles ladder to continue. This helps you to find playing partners of a similar standard and enjoy fun singles tennis. To find out more please email cltcsingles@gmail.com

One to one coaching is allowed under the guidelines, please get in touch with Craig Leese if you would like to refresh your skills - please contact him on 07795 144154 or e mail smashtennisuk@outlook.com

It goes without saying if you have any symptoms of Covid 19 or indeed anything that could be confused with Covid 19 do not come to the Club.

These arrangements are a long way from where we would like to be, but we are fortunate that tennis is one of the few sports that the government allows at this time. We hope that we will be able to ease the restrictions in the future, meanwhile enjoy your tennis and stay safe.
