Sunday 25th saw the staging of our 2021 Club Men’s Singles event. A full field of 16 entrants took to the courts on a very hot day

The tournament was played using the fast four format with the first round winners going into the main draw and the losers into the plate event

In the main draw the semi finals were contested between Simon Darmon and Tom Minshull , and Mark Smith and Luke Coltman with Simon and Mark progressing to the final where Simon defeated Mark in front of a good crowd watching from the clubhouse balcony

Simon took home the winners cup and a voucher courtesy of main sponsors Moorlands Graze

Mark took home the runners up voucher from Portobello Pizzeria

In the plate event two first time tournament entrants reached the final with Ryan Brookes defeating Michael Spratt - Ryan’s prize was a voucher from Typhoon Thai and Michael took home a bottle of wine

In the final of supplementary knockout for the second round losers Mike Massey beat Luke Preston

Chair Rob Mcninch presented the prizes and thanked all the sponsors , the organiser , the competitors for taking part , Eileen Grigg for running the bar and all the spectators who came along and supported the competitors during the afternoon
