Dome Update

Brand new Dome B!

We are really excited to inform you all of the latest arrival at Corby Tennis Centre, in the shape of a brand new Bridome airhall, with LED lighting and translucent panels. This is the first 4 court airhall in the Country to have this latest lighting design, and the translucent panels make daytime play in natural light possible in most weather conditions. Take a look at some pictures from the week here.

While all the work was taking place to get the new dome up, in the adverse weather, the Tennis Centre Team were working hard decorating. The lounge area has been transformed with a new colour scheme, which we hope you will all like. Directors and staff joined in with rollers and paint brushes for most of the week last week, and I thank you for your patience if you came in to play. We hope all the new furniture and décor make your visits even more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the snow at the start of the week meant that only half of the dome workforce were able to fly in from Belgium and Lithuania, so only one of the domes was able to be replaced. However, the great news is that from 3-6th January, our second airhall will be replaced to look exactly the same as the swanky new one. With the recent collapse of the dome at Hemel Hempstead, we believe that Corby may have the oldest dome still in use in the Country in Dome A (at least until 3rd Jan!). Through the monthly maintenance carried out on the domes and the air handling units, the dome has lasted into its 28th year, and they are only expected to last for 15 years.

We would like to thank Corby Borough Council for their huge support with this project, and also thank Bridome for the effort and speed they put into ensuring we had both domes back in play for the weekend.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a very bright New Year in our new airhalls!

Craig, Juliette, the Directors and all the Team
