Tarbolton Primary School entered two teams in this year's South Ayrshire Active Schools green ball championships. Though always a sporty school, their interest in tennis has rekindled recently since we started visiting as part of our schools outreach program. So much so that all of the team players have become members of Coylton Tennis Club.

Not many people know this, but Tarbolton Primary are a former winner of the (all) Ayrshire Primary Schools red ball tournament. This was back in 1999, well before Coylton Primary won it.

Our links with the primary go back before this, to at least the early 1990s when the legendary Captain Gower used to visit our local schools. John Gower was at that time our Club President.
