Ball Machine

The ball machine (a Lobster Elite 3) is available for members only to hire. You must pre-book via the Booking page on the website where you will need to pay £1.50 per half hour of use.  You must also book a court to use it on.

If you haven't used it before - please email General / E-Secretary to arrange a brief walkthrough. The instruction manual can be found here.

The ball machine is only suitable for the tennis courts and not the padel court.  It's a fragile piece of equipment so please handle it with care. In wet conditions the balls will become damp and stick in the machine so we advise not to use it during / after heavy rain.

Points to note

  1. Remove the charger cable from the back of the machine before use (do not unplug at the wall socket).
  2. Lift the ball machine down the steps rather than bumping it down.
  3. Wheel it over the paving slabs rather than the rough ground.
  4. It will run on battery power so do not plug it on court.
  5. The balls are in the washing basket and are marked BM and should be carried seperately (Do not put the balls in the unit when moving it onto the court).
  6. Ensure you have collected all the balls and retrieved any that have gone outside the court once finished.
  7.  When you are finished with the ball machine put it back in the hall and reconnect the charger cable to the back of the ball machine so it recharges.
  8. If you have any issues with the ball machine or an issue with your booking then report it to a member of the committee or email General / E-Secretary.
  9. If you need to cancel your booking at short notice (e.g. due to weather) - please follow the cancellation process on this page as it is the same process as getting refunded for floodlight bookings.
