Tennis Royalty Visits Cutnall Green Tennis Club

There was excitement on court recently at Cutnall Green Tennis Club, just outside

Droitwich, when LTA President Sandi Procter stopped by during her visit to

Hereford & Worcester. Sandi came to see first-hand how the club is leading the

way in inclusive tennis and bringing people together through sport.

Cutnall Green Tennis Club has become a real hub for the community, offering

weekly Fun Tennis sessions for Home Educated Families, developed by Alice

Barnsdale and Kerry Ligthert from Rally Together CIC. Both are passionate about

making tennis accessible to everyone, whatever their background or ability.

Alice, who home educated her own son, recognised the need for friendly, SEND

inclusive opportunities for families to get active together. Kerry, a breast cancer

survivor, brings warmth and empathy to every session, helping players of all ages

build confidence and connection through tennis.

The club’s inclusive offer has continued to grow, with the addition of monthly

Cerebral Palsy Champions sessions for juniors, weekly Walking Tennis, and

Pink Ribbon Tennis, the latter in partnership with Worcestershire Breast Unit

Haven, supporting women recovering from breast cancer.

Earlier this month, the club also held a fundraiser for Worcestershire Breast

Unit Haven, which brought the community together for a day of fun, fitness, and

friendship – raising an impressive total for the local charity. The event highlighted the

generosity of local businesses and the strong community spirit at the heart of the

club.

These initiatives have been made possible thanks to the guidance of Neil Bates,

County Open Court Lead, whose support has helped the club expand its

community programmes.

Sandi’s visit was a celebration of everything local tennis can achieve – promoting

wellbeing, friendship, and fun for everyone on court
