At Lime Tree Road, we firmly believe that everyone should have the chance to participate in sport if they wish and we take pride in working with a number of specialist schools in the local community to further the opportunities of children with complex physical, mental and sensory requirements.
The club is fully accessible to members and visitors thanks to a grant from the Veolia Environmental Trust in 2017. The grant paid for better provision of facilities for athletes and guests with disabilities including the installation of a new floor for better access, an accessible toilet facility and the installation of a platform lift for wheelchairs.
The tennis accessible tennis program at the club has been run by Derek Perry for a number of years with the support of the Norfolk LTA and LTA Open Court. This work accumulated in the club winning LTA Disability Club of The Year in 2018.
The disability program has now grown and is run under the name Tennis Able. Still based at the club and run by Derek Perry, Tennis Able aims to increase the opportunities for players looking to partake in inclusive tennis.
If you want to find out more about the inclusive tennis delivered by Tennis Able you can visit their website www.tennisable.co.uk and email the team there at team@tennisable.co.uk
