A rare sunny day in May 2024 saw us hold a hugely successful Open Day at the club. Thanks in a large part to the weather and  pre-event publicity we attracted record numbers of people to come and try out our facilities.

The tennis events were led by ex-Davis Cup player, Danny Sapsford. He kindly volunteered his time, through Bright Ideas for Tennis, as part of our association with a local school for autistic children, Step by Step.

Danny worked hard all day leading coaching sessions across all ages and finishing off with a couple of exhibition matches involving our younger tennis players.

The General Committee also extends it thanks to the many members who volunteered their time across tennis, squash and racketball and also the BBQ and bar.

We generated significant interest in memberships on the day and record takings across the bar. The funds raised from the coaching sessions will be used to extend our coaching outreach to local schools and organisations.

All in all, an amazing day and a huge credit to our vibrant club!
