Mini Tennis

Mini Tennis is for those aged 5-11 and is divided into several stages to aid with your childs development through the game.

Mini Red
5-8 years old, played with a mini tennis net / a foam or red ball (75% slower than an adult ball)
This course is usually 45 minutes to keep attention focused.
Proper tennis technique is taught and real games are played.

Mini Orange
7-9 years old, played with a mini tennis net or a full net lowered to the same height / an orange ball (50% slower than an adult ball) on a slightly smaller sized court.
Proper tennis technique is taught and real games are played, these sessions are similar to the older ages, but scaled down for this age group.

Mini Green
9-11 years old, played on a full singles court (even for doubles) / a green ball (25% slower than an adult ball)
This is the cross-over stage before full yellow ball - very similar to the older sessions, but the slightly slower ball helps younger players.

In all sessions we are thinking about how the child will progress from the early days of Tennis Tots or red ball through to playing competitively and representing the club in teams when they are older. So they start with a lot of fun, games and solid technique and it is gradually scaled up as they get older.
