The Tommy Coulter American Tournament was played on Saturday 12th June, with a noisy backdrop of the visiting fair. 16 players were split into two groups Cruttenden and Greenstreet, and played three matches per pair to find the winners of each group.

Nigel Morley and Lesley Davies-Evans won a play-off from their group to take on Ian Baker and Ann Haffenden in the final, with Ian and Ann controlling the final and winning comfortably.

A marvellous tennis tea was provided and prizes were presented by club chairman James Matthews
