10 am - 12 noon | Adult roll up
5.00 pm to close | Adult roll up if pre-advised (subject to there being no club matches)
4.00 - 5.30 pm | Improvers ("Rusty Rackets") roll up
9.30 am - 12 noon | Adult roll up
On Saturday mornings and, where practicable, for other roll ups, there will be a nominated Games maker to help organise the sessions, introduce new members and arrange appropriate fours. The Games maker will also keep a record of all attendees for "Track and Trace " purposes and apply all necessary Covid protocols
Until further notice, guests will not be allowed at roll ups, although in the future it is hoped to allow once again Members to pre-arrange to bring a guest who is genuinely interested in becoming a member for a one-off taster (at no cost). Junior members (14 yrs+ ) may also attend, subject to their being of competent standard and behaving appropriately.
Roll up games are normally doubles, with players mixing in with others after each game. Depending on numbers, there may be some sitting out - giving an opportunity to socialise. The length of games will be flexible so the sit out should not be too long.

In the 2021 Summer League, the Club has entered the following teams and their captains are noted alongside.
Men's A Team: Rory Nursten
Men's B Team: John Powell
Men's C Team: John Powell
Ladies A Team: Judith Turner
Ladies B Team: Judith Turner
Mixed Team: John Powell
Veterans' A Team: Peter Rix

All teams play their matches after work in the evenings or during the weekend except for the Veterans Team.
The Veterans format is two men and two ladies who play their matches in the morning, normally followed by a convivial lunch organised by the home team (but this may be restricted due to covid restrictions). The minimum age for Veterans is 50 for ladies and 55 for men.
For matches (and social events) there are some health and safety restrictions on home prepared food served at the Club. Team Captains will advise team members of these. Any questions should be directed to [email protected] .
The Team Captains are always pleased to hear of any member who wishes to be included in the squad for teams.
The Team Captains can be contacted direct or through [email protected]
As a community tennis club, the Club provides a range of tennis and social activities and, in addition to what it offers members, non-members can use the Courts on a "Pay and Play" basis. To do so, contact the Club on [email protected] with a request to play at a particular day/time, leave a name and contact telephone number where we can reach you. If a court is free, on payment of the relevant court fee, you will be given a one-time Pay & Play padlock entry code for the gate accessed via the high bank on Court 1 (nearest the Pavilion).
For Adults: £10 for 2 hours
For Juniors (under 18 years): £5 for 2 hours (even if playing with Adults)
The Court Rules must be observed
LTA registered members (even if not Club members) can use the on-line Booking Facility, but must register / log in to do so.
Please note: All court users must be prepared to show ID, if requested, to enable their membership/ "Pay & Play" payment to be checked.
Coaching is also available for non-members with the Club Coach: Alex Bone of Generation Tennis, although a supplementary fee will be charged. Book via Generation Tennis
The Club's membership fees are very reasonable compared with other local clubs and it is hoped that non-members will want to join the Club. New members of all standards are very welcome and a free Club session / roll up as a taster is normally available to all potential members (when covid precautions permit).
