The Covid pandemic has resulted in changes at Bath University and they are no longer able to support Community tennis programmes. However, we are delighted to confirm that Stephen Marcelle will remain the Frome Tennis Club Coach and that he has ambitious plans for the Frome. He will develop his own Tennis Academy and as of 9th May our coaching programmes will be managed under his control. The existing programme will continue and there will be extra classes including Cardio tennis and Two Bounce tennis. Developing the Junior programme is an important objective, links with schools will be expanded and Stephen is to hold an accredited LTA Youth Match Play Tennis Tournament on Sunday May 16th from 9:00am. It has 10 different Junior categories and is now open and live on the LTA Website.

Reaching Out Scheme 

Our Reaching Out Scheme provides free coaching and free club membership for juniors from low-income families and for adopted children and children in foster care. If you are a parent or guardian of a child that qualifies (or is likely to qualify on starting school) for Pupil Premium funding, then you will be eligible for the scheme. Please speak in confidence to Stephen Marcelle and tell him that you child has qualified (or is likely to qualify) for the scheme. Normally there will be no need to provide any written evidence. 

The scheme is now also open to Ukrainian refugees and refugees from other countries.

Half-price club membership is also available for adults from low-income families (see the club web site for details) so you could join as a family at significantly reduced cost.
