Following last week’s government announcement the LTA has informed us that clubnights and other social tennis events can resume provided the club follows Covid-19 secure ‘Play Safe’ guidelines.

The first Clubnight will take place on Monday 20th July at 7.00 pm and the Social Tennis Group will resume on Thursday 23rd July from 10.00  until midday.  If you would like further information about the Thursday tennis group please contact Valerie Berthoud on 01995 602248 or Pam Heatley on 01995 602839.

• As tennis starts to open up, and we mix in larger groups, it is very important that we continue to observe the government guidelines regarding social distancing and follow public health guidelines for hygiene.
• For everyone's safety we would ask the following:    
• If you are feeling unwell with any suspected Covid-19 symptoms please do not come to the tennis court.  A self assessment can be made through the the NHS website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus
• There are no facilities at the courts for hand washing so please wash your hands before coming to the courts, bring your own alcohol gel hand sanitiser where needed, and wash your hands again after playing.
• The clubhouse remains closed apart from entering to switch on the floodlights.
• As you will be unable to enter the clubhouse to fill drink containers, bring a full water bottle if needed.
• Maintain the 2 metre social distancing particularly entering and leaving the courts, changing ends on court and whilst waiting to play on clubnights or Thursday morning social tennis.
• As the clubhouse remains closed, there will be no chairs to sit on.  It is advisable to bring your own fold up chair if you would rather not stand.
• The nets are set at the correct height, please do not touch them.
• Please keep a record of who you have played tennis with.  If you are using the Clubspark booking system this can be done by entering names in the section marked ‘Participants’.
• If anyone who has played at the tennis club develops symptoms of COVID-19, please follow the Government’s ‘test and trace’ guidelines, which can be read on the Gov.uk website.
