On the evening of Thursday, 13th June, Goodrich 'C'hasers were in action against the ladies of Mathon, Cradley and Storridge Tennis Club (MCS). Due to the heavy rain showers during the day it was touch and go whether they would be able to play, but a break in the rain meant play could commence.
Both pairs, Bonnie Palmer and Carolyn Riddell, Kayla Coopey and Ros Wadsworth made a very strong start, winning the first rubber 6-1/6-1, and 6-1/6-0 respectively. As grey clouds loomed overhead the second rubber got underway. Bonnie and Carolyn enjoyed another 6-1/6-1 win, having some good rallies with the MCS ladies. Meanwhile Kayla and Ros had more of a challenge on their hands against the MCS first pair, but battled through and won 6-4/6-3, much to the delight of the band of loyal supporters who had turned out on a cold and damp evening to cheer them on.
The 'C'hasers will be back on court again on Monday, 17th June, away to Woolhope 'C' in Division 6 West of the H & W Summer League.
