This year’s AGM will be held on Tuesday April 4th at 7.30pm at Goodworth Clatford Village Club.
I am indebted to the committee for their continuing contributions to all activities that have occurred this past year. The most important achievement has been the renewal of the Club’s lease with the Goodworth Clatford Village Club. This new lease will secure our tenancy for the next 25years which will allow the committee to undertake in future major expenditure on the courts and surrounds as required.
Unfortunately Lizzy Austin has had to resign from the committee and I thank her for her contribution over these past few years. I would also like to acknowledge one of our trustees, Angela Houghton, who has also stepped down from her role after many years of valued support and assistance.
The Club continues to offer opportunities for members to play social and competitive tennis. The Club is represented by Ladies, Mens and a mixed team in the Basingstoke League and a mixed team in the Sarum league; all play both in the summer and winter. It is particularly encouraging that this year the Ladies Basingstoke team are vying for top spot in the 1st division.
Our financial position is healthy and so we are confident we can continue to provide members with excellent playing conditions.
Our annual Quiz Night is well supported and we have also contributed to the success of the Village Fete with our cakes and tea stall. Another activity that has proved popular has been professional coaching for both adults and juniors.
We therefore start the new year with confidence and I hope you will continue your membership and thus enjoy the outstanding location and facilities that the Club offers.
