Chairman's Letter 2022

Dear Member(s)

The AGM this year will be held on Thursday May 26th at 7.30 pm at Goodworth Clatford Village Club. Accompanying this letter is the agenda for the meeting. If you require a copy of the minutes of the 2021 AGM please contact our secretary, Geoff Eagles.

After the disappointments of 2020, the easing of COVID restrictions in 2021 allowed the Club to resume its activities, providing opportunities for both social and competitive tennis. In addition, it was pleasing to see the response to the initiative of Abbie Walker and Jo Bovill in organising professional coaching for children. It underlined the wider role that our Tennis Club plays in the life of the village.

On behalf of the membership I would like to thank the committee for their continuing commitment to the management of the Club.

We have had one change in the committee during the year with Tania Raey stepping down due to work commitments. In her place we are delighted to welcome back Julie Clark who has acted as treasurer in the past.

As you may know, the distribution of Wimbledon tickets has been changed by the LTA. The Club no longer is allocated tickets and individuals now have to enter the public ballot which is organised by the LTA.

We are looking forward to a full programme of events this year and I hope you will continue your membership and enjoy the outstanding facility that we have in Goodworth Clatford.
