Club American Tennis Tournament

Hi All, the plan is to kick the season off in style by getting everyone together for a fun tournament that will also raise a bit of cash for our nominated charity - The Air Ambulance.

Details as follows:

Date - Sunday 6th April

Time - 10.00am for 10.30 prompt start

Duration - All Day (all 4 courts will be required)

Food - Faith supper (please bring a savory or sweet for 4 people)

Entry fee - £3 per person (all proceeds to the Air Ambulance)

The Tournament:

  • Pairs will be drawn at random - mixed wherever possible
  • Each pair will play every other pair in their section
  • Each pair will play an (even number of games)* with and against their partners
  • The second named player in each pair will swap partners at the halfway point
  • Each individual player will record the number of games they have won and give this to the scorer 
  • The players with the highest points total in each section will become  a pair and then play a semi final / final

* The actual number of games will be announced on the day when the total number of pairs is known.

Scoring Example:

  • Pair A & B Vs Pair C & D 
  • A total of 6 games - 3 with and 3 against your partner
  • A & B win 2 and C & D win 1
  • A & D win 3 and C & B win 0
  • Player A = 5 points
  • Player B = 2 points
  • Player C = 1 point
  • Player D = 4 points
