During September we held our annual club championships.

The championships consisted of six draws: Ladies’ Singles, Ladies’ Doubles, Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Girl’s Singles and Boy’s Singles. The club would like to thanks everyone who took part for making this such a memorable competition and for competing in such good spirit. We hope even more club members will be able to take part next year.

Ladies’ Singles

Congratulations to Gillian Mackenzie who overcame Vic McLean in the final in two sets (6-2, 6-2).

Men’s Singles

Congratulations to Donald Mcallister who keeps his winning streak alive with a hard-fought victory over Jayanth Chandran (6-3, 2-6, 6-1).

Ladies’ Doubles

Congratulations to Jo Drewitt and Margaret Poynor-Clark who prevailed over Shona Bowen and Irene Clark in the final (6-4, 6-3).

Men’s Doubles

Congratulations to Andrew Hall and Shane Presley who stormed to victory over Jack Booker and Ewen Macpherson (6-0, 6-3)

Girl’s singles

Congratulations to Annabel Galloway on her win over Beatrice Lusty (2-4, 4-2, 4-2).

Boy’s singles

Congratulation to Matthew Cecil on his victory over Neil Presley (4-1, 3-4, 4-3).

We would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the championships again, there were some very closely fought and exciting matches this year! We would also like to give especial thanks to Ewen Macpherson for organising the competition, we know it can’t have been easy.
