Corona Virus Pandemic (Covid-19) - UPDATE 23/3/20

We hope you are well and keeping safe.

At the present time all indications are that outdoor tennis can still be enjoyed in a safe way, however, we feel it necessary to publish an update to our latest club rules and advise you that all activity at the club is done at your own risk. Please stay safe, consider the impact of your activity on others and follow these rules. If it is felt people are not abiding by these rules we will unfortunately have no choice but to close our doors in the interests of safety. We will continue to provide updates in accordance with LTA guidelines and government advice and we will of course close the club in the event of a lock-down.

In General:

  • Self-isolate if you develop symptoms (a temperature above 37.8 or a new continuous cough). Stay away from the club for no less than 14 days.
  • Do not use the clubhouse under any circumstances. The clubhouse will remain closed until further notice.
  • ALL group sessions are cancelled until further notice. This includes ALL coaching and ALL social sessions.
  • Only singles games are allowed until further notice. No doubles. This is to abide by 2 metre social distancing measures.
  • Do not simply turn up at the courts. You must book courts through the website or booker app first (details on the 'bookings' page of our website).
  • Only members are allowed to play at the club. The courts are now closed to all visitors until further notice.
  • Activity should only take place where travel to and from the courts can be done in a way compliant with social distancing advice, with players not travelling together unless they are part of a group residing in the same place.

Hygiene:

  • Players must wash their hands before and after a tennis session without exception (or use an alcohol gel if washing hands is not possible).
  • Clean and wipe down equipment, including rackets and gate handles.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Dispose of tissues, wipes and towels in your own bags.

When Playing:

  • Do not arrive early for a session. Arrive on time.
  • We have three distinct areas. Please only use courts 1, 3 and 5. This will limit play to six in the venue at any one time. Courts 2 and 4 are closed until further notice. Only court 1 is available for floodlit sessions.
  • There is to be no physical contact between players during warm-ups or games.
  • You must use a glove for ball handling.
  • Consider using new balls where possible. Use fewer balls than you normally would and clearly mark them with your initials.
  • Keep an appropriate social distance when resting between games.
  • Do not change ends during play.
  • No handshaking.
  • Do not leave balls in the court area.
  • Leave ten minutes before the end of the booked session to allow a buffer period. This will allow time for players to leave before the next set of players arrive. Communicate (at a distance) with others at the venue to ensure collective regress is staggered.

Thank you for your cooperation. Once again, please take care.
