24th March 2020 Hemyock Tennis Club & Covid 19
Events have proved fast moving and yesterday evening’s announcement by the Prime Minister has meant a complete review of social activity including the playing of tennis.
Please be aware that as authorities review the measures they are taking, guidelines may change. We will make every effort to advise of these, and in addition to our emails, there remains a LTA link on our website, where you can get comprehensive information.
SOCIAL TENNIS
Hemyock courts will be closed immediately until the club committee receives information or advice from authorities that they may re-open with no risk to the spread of coronavirus.
CLUBHOUSE / PAVILION
There is currently no access to the clubhouse. A number of keys are held to the doors, but please observe this restriction, or the club must ask keys to be returned.
COMPETITION
The West Somerset League AGM arranged for Friday 20th March has been postponed.
It is unlikely that a league programme will run in 2020, but when a final decision has been made, members will be kept informed.
COACHING
Due to new rules on social distancing, the ‘rusty rackets’ sessions planned for April and May have been cancelled.
Junior coaching is on hold for the present time. Members and parents of juniors will be advised if and when it can resume.
There will be no holiday sports clubs.
Dan is the best person to advise on whether he is able to help with personal coaching requirements.
2020_21 MEMBERSHIP FEES
Where 2020_21 membership fees have been paid prior to April 1st 2020 renewal date, the club default position will be to refund those fees.
The club will no longer be reminding members of the need to renew for the 2020_21 season.
Some members may wish to assist the club by not having their fees refunded, and where this is the case, the club will be extremely grateful and will consider future fees for 2020 / 2021 once the position regarding the possibility of playing tennis again has become clearer.
