Update on James whom has had a great half term and is presently ranked number 5 2004 Boy in Great Britain.

James firstly competed in the Under 14 British Clay Court National Championships held in Halton, Buckinghamshire (James is still an U13) where the top 32 ranked boys in GB were competing against each other winning his first match against fellow National Training Camp junior Gregor Webster 1-6 7-5 10-8 coming back from 6/1 4/1 down to win a marathon 2.5 hour match. He then competed very well against the number 4 seed Lui Maxted (2003) losing 6/2 6/1.

After that James played the best tennis of his life to win the City of Manchester Open Regional Tournament where he competed over two days playing 4  matches to take the title, beating the British number 16 Sam Reeve 6/7 6/1 11/9 in a pulsating final (Sam is GB number 2 2004).
