NEWS  - A new 5 weeks Beginners Course starts on the 10th April to the 8th May. This is open to members and non-members. Book via the coaching page on the website.  Rackets can be provided. 

About the Club

Heworth Tennis Club is an active, friendly club situated next to 90 East Parade in Heworth, York (YO31 7YH), just 1/2 mile from the city centre, with on street car parking & bicycle racks on site. 

Facilities: We have four all-weather hard courts, two on East Parade with floodlights and two in Glen Gardens on Bull Lane. We have a modern clubhouse with two toilets which are accessible for disabled users.

Club members are able to play both singles and doubles. We offer Adult, Junior and one to one coaching. 

Booking courts - All courts have to be booked online. There are 60mins/90mins slots starting at 8am through to 9.30pm on the Clubhouse courts and 8am to when daylight ends (reduced hours in the winter months) on the Glen Garden courts. Once registered members can book courts via the website or booker app. The Clubhouse is open for switching the floodlights on and off, using the toilet and filling water bottles.  

Singles play Ladder: For those who like to play singles, we run a mixed internet-based singles ladder. The ladder is open to all players, with everyone finding their own level.  Contact heworthtc@gmail.com for more information. 

Tournaments - We run in-house tournaments on a regular basis, in the winter we hire indoor facilities.

Clubplay - We have open Clubplay on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings.

Coaching: We have group Adult and Junior coaching for members only but we also run beginners courses where non-members are welcome. All coaching sessions have to be booked online. Any coaching has to be authorised and managed by the Club and our coach has to be registered to our venue for them to be covered by both the Club's and their own insurance. 

Teams: We have 2 ladies, 3 mens and 3 mixed teams playing in the leagues.
