Results of the 2018 Hillside LTC Club Championships

Despite the awful weather conditions over the weekend our 2018 Club Championships saw some high quality and entertaining tennis.  A particular well done to both the mens and ladies singles finalists who bravely played in the rain!

Thanks also to all those who provided the lovely cakes, salads, etc. that were enjoyed by all despite the weather.

Mens Singles

Chris Hechter beat Tom Flanagan 7-5, 2-6, 6-3

Ladies Singles

Maryna Tasker beat Kathryn Eyes 6-1, 6-2

Ladies Doubles

Adele Gent-Jones and Maryna Tasker beat Joanna Wilde and Christine Wilde by 6/4, 7/6(11/9) 

8 & Under Singles

Will Dobson beat Evie Sampson 10-4

10 & Under Singles

Marcus Howell beat Freddie Landy by 4/0, 4/0 

16 & Under Singles

Kieran Darby beat George Kenny by 4/2, 1/4, 10/6(tie break) 

16 & Under Doubles

Kieran Darby and Ted Drew beat George Kenny and Liam Sampson by 6/1

Unfortunately, the heavy rain for most of our scheduled Finals Day resulted in the following events being decided by walk overs as some of the finalists were not available to play at the rescheduled time on the second day: 

Mens Doubles - awarded to James Hawkins and Christian Beadell 

Mixed Doubles - awarded to Sean McKiernan and Jane Hogan 

10 & Under Doubles - awarded to Marcus Howell and Freddie Landy
