Some of our junior members celebrated the end of the Southport and District League by going out for a meal.

The 3 teams consist of Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14. They train on Thursday evenings together and Saturday mornings with Mike. Some of the team attend Friday Club night which is open to all Junior members. However, primary age juniors must be accompanied. 

The Quorn cup on the 7th April was extremely well represented by juniors of all ages. It was won by Freddie Landy and his dad Jonathan. They went on to represent HLTC at the finals in Manchester. 

An Under 12 team played 4 out of 5 matches in the newly named Team Tennis League ( Aegon). They played away to Holcombe Park and Palmerston together with 2 Home matches. Broughton conceded. 

An Under 14 team entered the Southport and District League and played 6 matches. 

An Under 10 team entered the Southport and District league and played 6 matches.

The Road to Wimbledon Competition took place on 2nd June. The winner George Kenny then represented HLTC at the regional finals at South Ribble Tennis Centre. 

The Hillside Junior Tournament is well on the way with some matches already played. The categories are under 8 singles, under 10 singles and doubles, under 16 singles and doubles. If your junior is involved in any of these categories then please arrange to play matches ASAP. Full rules are on the notice board. I am here to help if needed. Finals day is Saturday 8th September or if very bad weather Sunday 9th September. 

A big thank you to the juniors who regularly volunteer throughout the year and have helped at the 2 sessions held for the Beavers and Scouts, the weekly 4.30-5.30 Friday evening coach led tennis sessions for children under 16, the Ainsdale show and the Open day. Thank you everyone.
