On Friday 30th September, together with personal trainer Gareth Heap, the Club took part in "The World's Biggest Coffee Morning" in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Despite the rain, loads of people turned up to take part in the HIIT excercise class and more importantly to eat the amazing selection of baked goodies that everyone kindly donated. We had planned for tennis but in the end made do with a catch up and a bit of table tennis.
Together we raised an amazing £760!! Over £550 on Friday and then a further £200 on Saturday to make sure every last slice of delicious cake was eaten!
A massive thank you to all those that helped, baked, donated and turned up to eat!
The money we have raised will go toward vital services.
£54 could pay for 200 copies of The cancer guide booklet which can help someone recently diagnosed with cancer and their families understand more about cancer, its treatment and the help available.
£237 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a day, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
£410 could help run the Online Community forum for a day. In this time, 1587 people affected by cancer in the UK can give emotional and practical support to each other on anything to do with cancer - from treatments to coping with everyday life.
