Led and organised by Mike Curtis a team comprising Holly Bazett, Martin Emmerson and Jamie Parsons travelled to Normandy over the weekend of 5th to 6th October.

In Mike's words -

It was a simple formula.

Leave at 5:00 on Saturday

Arrive at 12:00.

Have a long lunch at their clubhouse with Jamie and Martin especially enjoying Le Vin.

Then play social tennis with the French on two indoor courts.

Then we drank beer, ate pizza and watched the England vs Argentina rugby that they had recorded for us.

Jamie and I went to stay with an old French lady who had zero English.  It was slightly alarming watching Jamie force feed her Marmite for breakfast.

Then we went to play tennis again - this time outside.  We had to press gang a Badminton player who also had zero English into playing doubles with us.

Then lunch and get home by 8:30.

It could develop - a bit like Twinning but with the Tennis connection.

I will check with Martin what to say on the website.

I think we perhaps could invite them over perhaps when the Eastbourne Tennis Tournament is on.
