From Monday 22nd June (TODAY) some of our group coaching program is due to return and we would like to advise players and those bringing players that we are doing this in line with government and LTA guidelines.

Before visiting us please read the attached guidance for those returning to coaching. These will be under constant review during this first week back.

Please note: NO MINI RED tennis has returned to the coaching program yet. If you play MINI RED tennis you will receive notification in the coming weeks on when your catch-up sessions will take place in July.

We ask that you are patient and listen carefully to the coach instructions so we can ensure the safest environment to return to tennis.

The coaching team are very excited to get back to some group coaching.

COACHING GROUPS SAFELY AT HUNTINGDON TENNIS CLUB   JUNE 2020

All activity will be consistent with the government guidance regarding health, travel, social distancing, and hygiene at all times

The measures put in place to enable group tennis activity to resume will be flexed or changed quickly if tighter movement/social distancing is reintroduced in the future or when the restrictions are further relaxed.  We are working strictly to the LTA and government guidance and will not take any risks with anyone’s health and safety.

GROUPS & COURTS

• Groups limited to 5 players (fewer in some cases)
• 2m social distancing in place at ALL times for players, parents and coaches
• Courts will be physically marked out with barriers in place (appropriate to the age of the players) to ensure social distancing maintained. 
• Drills will be set up and clearly explained by the coach so that players know where to position themselves safely
• Our lessons will look a little different with SKILLS – RALLY – GAME segments.

HYGIENE

• All players use toilet and wash hands with soap BEFORE leaving their house to travel to their venue
• The Clubhouse remains closed. Toilets will be accessible, but we ask you try to avoid using facilities if possible.
• All players apply hand sanitiser (please bring your own to minimise sharing that provided at the club) immediately before stepping on court and immediately after session
• Sessions may finish a couple of minutes early to allow for changeover to next group
• Players remain outside the club boundary until invited by a coach to enter
• All coaches will apply hand sanitiser before and after every coaching session

EQUIPMENT

• The coach should be the only person to touch the tennis balls and players use their feet/racket to return them
• Players should bring their own equipment - racket sharing/use of communal rackets is not permitted
• Any coaching equipment used (e.g. cones) will only be handled by the coach who will clean and wipe down thoroughly after sessions

GENERAL

• Guardian (non-participant) or carer attendance is permitted and is not counted as part of the maximum group size of 5, but should be off court and limited to one per child, with social distancing strictly observed while watching the session
• Spectators are leave to clubhouse patio and spectate from the grass area while keeping social distancing rules in place
• We have completed a full Risk Assessment to ensure our sessions are safe for players, parents and coaches – See attached.
• If you/your child/any member of your household feels unwell in the slightest DO NOT attend
