UPDATE ON CORONOVIRUS RESTRICTIONS

As we move forward with the lifting of restrictions of lockdown following the Government announcement Thursday 28th May we are amending our:

'Use of Courts at Hutton Rudby in line with the LTA and Government guidance'

Please note below some clarification on the document attached.

1. (NEW) As from today June 1st you are able to play both SINGLES and DOUBLES tennis with members from different households.

Court Bookings clarification.  As a committee we have held back from introducing a booking system for all members who want to come to the courts to play.  We are a village Club with less than 10% of our membership living outside the village.  At present there are no block bookings for: matches, coaching, club nights etc. the courts are available 24/7.  Claire is regularly coaching individuals on court 5 and is able to keep an eye on how busy the courts are. She has reported over the past 3 weeks there have been only 2-3 occasions when all 5 courts have been in use with nobody waiting for a court.  However we do appreciate that some members live away from the village, you are welcome to contact Claire if you feel it is necessary on : 07914383912 and she will happily check availability if she is at the courts. We will continue to monitor the use of the courts and only if necessary introduce a booking system.

2. (NEW)  If all 5 courts are full when you arrive, confirm with whoever is due to come off court next, that you will wait away from the court / club entrance / car park, for them to finish their game. The waiting time for a court to become free being 15 mins maximum.  Except if there is a singles match taking place for the boxed leagues.

3. Cleveland League update for those of you who play in the Leagues: The Cleveland League matches will not run this year.  I will be back in touch with you towards the end of July when we hope some friendly matches could be played.  Anne Brown. ( Secretary of the Cleveland League)

4. Singles Box Leagues: Claire has had over 40 members who have requested to be involved in the Singles Boxed Leagues, which is fantastic.  Although we are now able to play doubles we will continue with the singles leagues and allow members to ease into playing friendly doubles with the possibility of a doubles boxed league towards the end of July / August.

5. Coaching: some coaching may resume over the next 3-4 weeks however this will be left up to the coaches, Claire and Derek to decide what will happen and they will contact you directly.

Please read the attached documents before heading down to the courts:

1. Use of Facilities at HRTC

2 LTA Guidance for Tennis Players

Please do not hesitate to contact a committee member if you are unsure about the use of the courts or you are unhappy about the current situation.
