Coaching

East Kent Community Tennis Programme

On Wednesday 03 May 2023, CH Tennis Coaching and Hythe LTC proudly hosted the above event for Year 3 & Year 4 pupils from our local schools and our Guest of Honour, the one and only TIM HENMAN OBE!

We had an amazing afternoon and the feed-back we’ve had has been wonderful. Watch the video here!

The aim of the EKCTP is to get more young people involved in tennis focusing on participation and is in its infancy. The Festival in 2022 created some awareness of the project and this year The Festival was attended by local schools and teachers benefitting from Tennis Coaching, CPD and Leadership.

Chris Hollands (Head Coach) and the coaching team at HLTC (Sarah, Alex, Harvey, Lucy, Elliot, Jody, Kseniya, Simon, Alex, Tom, Jeral & Myki) provided a superb coaching programme and the youngsters absolutely loved being on court – it helped that the rain held off too!

Tom from Dover College (Third Form), held his own on court against Tim Henman! Tom won a raffle as part of the East Kent Community Tennis Programme's Schools Festival, which was hosted at Dover College and Hythe Lawn Tennis Club. The money raised from the raffle will be donated to the Tim Henman Charitable Foundation.

Thank you to His Worship the Mayor of Hythe, Councillor Jim Martin and his Sargent at Arms, Terry Reene and all our club members and visitors who joined us for the afternoon - we hope you enjoyed the event.

Last but by no means least - many thanks to all our volunteers who helped out on the day and a big THANK-YOU to Karen (Social Events Coordinator at HLTC) for providing delicious refreshments all afternoon! Hythe Lawn Tennis Club - #TennisForAll!
