Charity fundraiser for “Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex”

Members of HLTC have chosen "Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex" as the club’s charity for our current 23/24 club year and to help reach our fundraising target of £1,500 we held a sponsored bike ride from HLTC to either Folkestone or Burmarsh and back on Sunday 15 October.

Many thanks to Alfie Adcock (for coming up with the idea) and Harvey Mashiter-Yates for both volunteering to be the ride leaders and to our generous cyclists who gave up their Sunday morning to ride to Folkestone: Chris Hollands, Greg Cowling, Sonia Bloy, Julia & Colin Reeves, Jane Dobson, David Delfosse & Kerry Harding and Burmarsh: Amanda & Ray Brown. Today's ride raised an additonal £432.20 bringing our total Just Giving fund to £1,242 to date!

Thanks also to Karen Ingelbrecht for providing another excellent lunch of home-made chicken/noodle soup with crusty bread, assorted sandwiches and cakes!

AAKSS is an independent charity and it costs over £16.6M a year to sustain their world-leading, cutting edge, innovative service and amazingly 87% is donated and raised by the people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex. All the money we raise will go towards helping the incredible team at AAKSS continue to provide the best care at the worst of times for their patients and stay at the forefront of pre-hospital critical care.

The world is unpredictable and medical emergencies happen. That’s why AAKSS have dedicated the last 34 years to saving lives and providing cutting-edge, pre-hospital critical care. They are a vital part of our communities, our lives and our safety.

Our Hythe LTC fundraiser for AAKSS ended on 31 March 2024 and we raised a total of £2013!  Many thanks to everyone who helped us raise this money; every penny has been donated to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex
