12 players turned out on 18th June for the mid season tournament on one of the hottest days of the year.

In sweltering temperatures, seven ladies and five men battled it out over four rounds of matches, after drawing partners. Due to the intense sun each match was played over two legs, with the first 3 games being played with one partner, before the ladies then swopped over to play 3 games against their partner.

Despite everyone sitting in the shade, drinking more water than normal and using ice packs to cool down for the next round, it was so hot that nobody had the energy to play a fifth round so a decision was taken to retire to the pub!

After some quick mental arithmetic, it was determined that Charlotte and Jo were the winners with 17 and 15 games respectively. Other players ended up as follows: Tim 11, Katie 10, Gary 13, Julie 11, Jon 9, Betti 8, Doz 15, Richard 13, David 11, Kate 11.
