The ladies team started the 2018 Summer season in Division 4 East which is the highest division they have ever played in.

In glorious sunny weather they set about our challenge in good spirits. Jo and Gill as first pair beat Bromsgrove first pair in a very close and hard fought match 7-5, 7-6. They also beat the opposition’s second pair only conceding one game 6-0, 6-1. Kempsey second pair Charlotte B and Kate were disappointed to lose to Bromsgrove’s third pair 4-6, 4-6 but admitted that they had not played at their best. Despite being more assertive in their match against the first pair and having a chance to win the opening set they lost the match 5-7, 4-6. Doz and Katie played well but despite their best efforts were unable to secure a win, losing 2-6, 1-6 and 3-6, 0-6.

Captain Kate Fardon said: "We enjoyed the match as it is a long time since we last played a league match against Bromsgrove. The final score was 2-4 but we are looking forward to our next match at Pershore on 20th May".
