On Saturday 28 August we will be welcoming Dave Rawlinson, the President of the LTA, and several officials from Cumbria LTA to our hard courts at Braithwaite and the grass courts at Fitz Park.
Over the last 18 months the club has received significant help from Cumbria LTA in:
- Identifying and appointing Gary Payton as our head coach
- Providing assistance to purchase equipment for our comprehensive junior coaching programme, and
- Agreeing funding towards the work at Braithwaite to create a weed barrier for the courts and laying a path from the car park to the pavilion and courts.
We are very grateful for Cumbria LTA’s support in these projects and look forward to showing Dave what has been achieved with their help.
The weather is looking good for Saturday so our plan is that Dave will meet some juniors and parents on the courts at Braithwaite and then go to the grass courts at Fitz Park for our usual Saturday social session. We hope as many of you as possible will take the opportunity to come along to the social session at Fitz Park to showcase the club to our visitors.
