Knebworth Parish News Article - June 2020

During the Covid-19 restrictions use of the courts has been severely limited in accord with guidelines. However, now with some relaxation it is possible for play not to be just between household members and the courts are being increasingly used.  However the Clubhouse has to remain closed at the moment.

  • Courts – resurfacing of the two upper courts with an all-weather surface commenced in June so that these courts should be available from early July.  The Club is grateful to The Knebworth Village Trust for a grant to assist with the finance for this work.
  • Coaching – our new coach Dan Clegg, who also coaches at Odyssey, has only been able to offer limited coaching due to the restrictions.  However, now small group coaching can take place, and junior and adult coaching is starting as well as individual coaching. For enquiries please contact coaching@knebworthtennisclub.co.uk
  •  Sunday  tournaments – these have always in the past been very successful and we are working on plans to introduce modified  Sunday tournaments shortly.
  • Thursday  Club night – we hope to restart our Thursday Club Night sessions imminently , but with members booking in advance.
  • Club Championship – again we are working on plans for having a tournament starting in mid-July with Finals Day in October.
  • League matches – these were obviously cancelled and we are waiting for information from the central organisers about matches in the Autumn.
