Finals Day

After a very wet morning when it looked like play would be impossible the weather cleared and all the matches were able to be played. First up were the Ladies and Men's Doubles - both matches were very keenly contested and both went to 3 sets. The men's winners were David Taylor and Steve Cowper with Craig Stevens and Adam Morsman as runners-up. Ladies winners were Emma Boorman and Sue Marszal with Jill  Taylor and Claire Weeks as runners-up. It was decided to play the three remaining matches simultaneously as it was getting late in the afternoon following the delayed start. Men's finalists were Josh Mumford - at 13 our youngest ever finalist - and his dad Adam.  A close match but Josh came out the winner beating Adam by 2-0. The men's plate was also a father and son match -Trevor v Adam Morsman - with Adam also beating his dad by 2-0. The mixed match was Craig Stevens and Emma Boorman v David Taylor and Claire Weeks with Craig and Emma being the winners.

A lovely afternoon was enjoyed by all and at one point the sun even came out to warm those spectators who braved the earlier weather. Many thanks must go to Adam for all his hard work in organising the tournament and to his  daughter Josie who presented the prizes.
