• Wimbledon Tickets.

Due to the current Covid restrictions,  tickets for the Wimbledon tournament will not be issued through a club ballot as usual. However LTA registered members will be eligible to apply on-line. As our club is LTA affiliated this means all members of every section including non-playing can register and have the opportunity to obtain tickets. If you fancy seeing the likes of Federer, Nedal, Djokovic, Williams and Osaka up close and personal then log on to; www.lta.org.uk and register.

• Padel Tennis. 

Whilst you are on the LTA site scroll down to the link to Padel tennis. If you are not familiar with the game it is one of the fastest growing sports across continental Europe and we will soon have 3 covered and floodlit courts here at Liverpool Cricket Club making us the Padel hub for the North West region. Padel is played mainly in a doubles format on an enclosed court about a third of the size of a tennis court. It is a hybrid of tennis and squash and can be played in groups of mixed ages and abilities. Having Padel available at our club is a huge recognition of our position as a leading multi sports academy and will allow us to provide members with the highest quality sports facilities.

• Liverpool District Tennis League.

Our league season starts week commencing 10th May 2021. There are a number of changes to fixture fulfilment this year to accommodate the disruption created by Covid. Details are available on the LDTG blog; www.liverpooltennisgroup.com. One significant change involves players representing our teams having to have a British Tennis Membership (BTM) number. These are easy to obtain through the LTA website (www.lta.org.uk) why not register for Wimbledon tickets whilst you're there?

• Youth Start.

Our coaching partners We Do Tennis are working with the LTA to provide juniors with the opportunity to take up tennis through their Youth Start programme. Sessions are held throughout the week starting on 21st April and are open to members, their families and friends. Registration costs £34.99 and includes; 6 weeks coaching with an LTA qualified coach, a T shirt, tennis racket and tennis balls. These sessions have proven to be very popular in the past so if you are interested please register at www.wedotennis.co.uk/liverpool-cc as soon as possible.

• Racket Re-Stringing.

I have been approached by Luke Roberts of our squash section who is offering re-stringing services to club members. I am aware that similar services are also offered by Graham Webb but feel that Lukes initiative needs promotion and support.As a special offer to members Luke will restring your racket for £10 for the remainder of April, so if you are fed up with playing with a racket with strings like a chip pan please give him a call on 07503 762952 or email; lukeroberts2012@sky.com
