Winter Tennis Ladder

This is a mixed ladies' and men's ladder arranged by Terry Ellis. The contact list, a list of competition rules and pictures of the ladder showing where you are starting have been emailed to participants. A list of contacts on the ladder board won't be put up in the Tennis Hut in order to prevent the public display of Members' details. So remember to keep the details emailed to you.

You all can now go ahead and start arranging your matches. A text may be the simplest way to arrange them. Shaun Shortland has offered to mount the ladder on the wall in the Tennis Hut and this should be done by the weekend of 28th October. There is also a score sheet to record scores after matches - Terry has even included a pen! So no excuses for not keeping a good record of your matches! Please keep the board in good order. Terry will email occasional updates of the ladder during the winter but ideally the ladder should run itself without much further input from him.

IMPORTANT: Players please look at the court Booking on the Club website as there are a number of pre-existing, regular social Tennis fixtures on certain days. When you arrange a fixture, in order to ensure that there is a court available for your game, contact Kate Megginson (katemaltontennis@gmail.com ; telephone 07986 755 150) or Richard Green (richardmaltontennis@gmail.com ; telephone 07799 822 724) so that they can book you in. This is particularly important for weekend play .

Please read the rules - they are simple but there are a couple of things you must do before and after your match to ensure everything runs smoothly.

By necessity, Terry has had to give everyone a starting point on the ladder. No doubt a few of you may feel offended or hard done by! But don't. Just beat the players around you and prove this initial ordering wrong!  All the male players have been listed above the females to start with but undoubtedly that will change as play proceeds. Remember to send photos or videos of your matches to Terry Ellis at @maltontennis on Instagram or Twitter.

Good luck and have an enjoyable winter of tennis.
