Andrea Simmons and Ben Beeley ran out winners in the club’s first American Doubles tournament since June 2019. The tournament was held on the afternoon of Saturday 17 July in scorching hot weather.

And it wasn’t just the weather that was red hot! There was some red hot tennis from the 22 members who took part and, by the end of the afternoon, some extremely red hot tennis players!!

Thanks go to Simon Mason for organising the afternoon and to Simon’s son, Sam for making sure all the scores were recorded correctly and serving cold drinks to the players. Thanks also to Sarah Ramsey who provided yet more amazing cakes. There had to be some elaborate arrangements to transport cakes to the club as Sarah had been pinged and was self-isolating. Don’t worry she was fine and in any case, there is no evidence that people can catch COVID-19 from food.
