Club re-opens with 10-point plan to keep everyone safe

The club has implemented the following 10 point plan to ensure a Covid secure environment.

  1. Always adhere to the Government’s social distancing requirements (2 metres apart) at all times, this includes the car park and on the approach to the courts;
  2. Only play singles (unless all four players in a doubles game are from the same household). NOTE NO DOUBLES play is allowed on the grass courts, nor the top two courts which are side by side;
  3. Bring your own hand sanitizer or wipes with you. Use these regularly before, during and after play;
  4. Only bring the equipment you need onto the court i.e. a racket, a drink and your own tennis balls. Mark your balls with your initials and do not handle your opponent’s tennis balls, kick them back or hit them with your racket;
  5. Stay on your side of the court and if you want to change ends agree to use opposite sides of the net;
  6. Avoid physical contact – no handshakes or high fives;
  7. Be aware that the clubhouse is closed and YOU MUST NOT ENTER except in an emergency. Please go to the toilet before you come to the club;
  8. Once the entry gate has been opened in the morning, please leave it open until the LAST PERSON LEAVES IN THE EVENING. We recommend you have a pair of disposal gloves available to use when opening or closing the gates;
  9. Take your rubbish home;
  10. Do not encourage spectators court side and avoid social gatherings with other players.

All members have also been advised to read the LTA guidance for players booklet. Download a copy here

As illustrated above, court gates have been taped closed to minimise handling  with players using courtside steps to access the courts. All benches have been removed or taped to discourage spectators.
