What can you expect?
At the Orange stage, children learn the rules & scoring to play the game from serve & return. Coaches will support children to grow their motor skills (orientation, hand-eye coordination, running & moving) to play in a dynamic environment. At the Orange stage children will increase proficiency, problem-solving skills & learn sportsmanship.
Notes from the coach
Mini Tennis LTA Youth. Children aged between 3-10 years can get stuck into the world of tennis with this exciting programme from the LTA. Featuring shorter courts, nets, rackets and a soft, low bouncing balls, Mini Tennis provides the perfect introduction to tennis for young children. There are 4 stages of Mini Tennis, Blue, Red, Orange and Green, each with their own court size and ball type. This tailored approach enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age. Mini Tennis Orange is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Red and is aimed at players aged 8-9 years. Players develop a more rounded game by learning a range of techniques and tactics. Courts are bigger and wider than the red stage, but still smaller than full size tennis courts. There are team and individual competitions with matches using tie-break scoring.
