What can you expect?
At the Blue stage, children will learn fundamental skills for tennis through play in a fun, stimulating and safe environment. Children will be encouraged to make decisions and positively cooperate with other children. Sessions will be active with skills being developed at an appropriate pace to the child’s experience and ability.
Notes from the coach
Mini Tennis LTA Youth. Children aged between 3-10 years can get stuck into the world of tennis with this exciting programme from the LTA. Featuring shorter courts, nets, rackets and a soft, low bouncing balls, Mini Tennis provides the perfect introduction to tennis for young children. There are 4 stages of Mini Tennis, Blue, Red, Orange and Green, each with their own court size and ball type. This tailored approach enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age. Mini Tennis Blue is a programme specially designed for children aged 3-5 years, which enables them to learn the basics of tennis. It encourages them to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities based on the fundamental area of balance, co-ordination, agility, movement and hand-eye coordination.
