Nailsea Lawn Tennis Club served up their first Open Day of the season - a runaway success ! 

We would like to thank everyone in the Nailsea community for their support of their local club. Jackie Thompson, Chairman, commented how "wonderful it was to see so many happy children, with many picking up a racquet for the first time".

The level of enquires from juniors has given the Club confidence to accelerate plans to sponsor training of two new LTA 1 coaching assistants through the University of Bristol. Tom Fowler, Lead Coach, says "I am pleased the Club is developing home grown talent, with Laura Smith and Lorenzo Milleri taking their qualifications during June and July, bolstering the existing coaching team.

Jackie also commented that "it was encouraging to see so many ladies show a strong interest" leading to the launch of a new Ladies group coaching session on Thursday evening, attended by 10 ladies, ranging from beginners to those who have played in the past. This has helped the Club preserve its proud record of diversity and builds on recent success of Men's tennis on Monday evenings.
